A late flight landing at Incheon does not tell you which transport you can catch. Make the decision when you know your terminal and likely time in the public arrivals hall, after baggage collection. Then compare the next usable departure with a taxi or your booked pickup, and confirm that your hotel will let you in.
For Hongdae, the current N6002 night bus is worth checking. For the Seoul Station or Euljiro 1-ga area, check N6701. Neither route is a promise of a short walk to every hotel in the neighborhood.

The night buses to check first
These are airport-to-Seoul departures in Korean local time, checked on 27 October 2026. The airport publishes separate T1 night-bus information and T2 night-bus information. Confirm again for your actual travel date; after-midnight departures belong to the next calendar day.
| Route and useful stops | Adult fare | From T1 | From T2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| N6002: Hongdae, Gwanghwamun, Dongdaemun and Cheongnyangni | ₩17,000 | 00:00, 00:30, 01:00, 01:40, 04:00, 04:40 | 23:40, 00:10, 00:40, 01:20, 03:40, 04:20 |
| N6701: Mapo, Seoul Station, Euljiro 1-ga and DDP | ₩18,000 | 23:50, 00:40, 01:40, 03:45, 04:40 | 23:30, 00:20, 01:20, 03:25, 04:20 |
Board at your own terminal. T1 departures use the arrivals level, 1F; T2 departures use B1. For N6002 at T2, the operator specifies platform 30 and requires a ticket bought before boarding. Check the N6002 boarding instructions for your direction.
Older articles may recommend N6001. That night route was permanently withdrawn on 1 August 2025, according to the operator’s service-change notice. Do not confuse it with the separately numbered daytime bus 6001.
Choose by the final stop, not just “central Seoul”
For Hongdae, map the N6002 stop to your accommodation entrance. For Myeongdong, N6701’s Euljiro 1-ga stop may suit some hotels, but that is not the same location as Myeongdong station. For Seoul Station, the N6701 operator page names the citybound drop-off as Sungnyemun. Check that specific stop against your entrance rather than assuming the bus pulls up beside your preferred station exit.
Use your hotel’s exact address to compare the stop and entrance. If the route leaves you needing another ride, include that cost and the uncertainty of finding it in your decision. A direct pickup can be worth comparing even when the bus ticket itself is much cheaper.
A missed bus can change the decision
Planning example: you reach T2’s public arrivals hall at 00:55. In the published table, both N6002 and N6701 next leave at 01:20. That does not guarantee you can board: you still need the correct ticket, pickup point and destination.
If you miss 01:20, the next listed N6002 is 03:40 and N6701 is 03:25. Reassess the wait against a taxi, an existing transfer booking or available airport-area accommodation. These are options to check, not claims that a room or vehicle will be available when you land.
Do not set a universal “last train” alarm from another traveler’s screenshot. The correct departure depends on your terminal, direction and operating date. Check the live AREX timetable if rail still looks possible; otherwise, work from the next confirmed bus or pickup.
Budget for a late-night taxi correctly
For Seoul regular taxis, the airport lists night surcharges of 20% from 22:00–23:00, 40% from 23:00–02:00, and 20% from 02:00–04:00. These are fare conditions, not a fixed quote to your hotel. Use the designated taxi stand and check the official airport taxi guide.
For a prebooked transfer, read the flight-delay and waiting policy before paying. Confirm the meeting point, passenger count, luggage capacity and total charges. Save a contact method you can use if the driver and flight arrive at different times.
Arrange the hotel door before the flight
Send your accommodation a specific message: “My flight arrives at Incheon at [time] on [date], terminal [T1/T2]. I may reach the property after midnight. Please confirm late check-in, the entrance address and any access-code instructions.” Ask how they want your reservation dated if your arrival crosses midnight.
Save the reply offline. A confirmed room booking does not by itself explain a locked entrance or where to collect a key. If reception has limited hours, resolve the handover before departure rather than discovering the process on the pavement.
- Keep the hotel name, Korean address, map pin and entrance instructions together.
- Save the route number, terminal-specific departure and boarding instructions; recheck them on arrival.
- Keep enough battery and a working contact method for the hotel or driver. Review whether your Korea eSIM needs a phone number.
- Make the following morning flexible. Use the first-day Seoul checklist after the arrival details are settled.
